What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead. What sets us apart isn’t just our process—it’s the intention behind it. We take time to understand, explore, and create with purpose at every turn.
Meet the Team
Fili and Nidia have been leading The Refinery Life Center since the beginning, 8 years ago. Fili and Nidia were born and raised in Guatemala, now making Chisec, GA their home with their two boys. Fili serves as the Life Center Director, the leadership and organization of all 5 Life Centers in the area, while Nidia is the local director of The Refinery Life Center in La Planada, GA.
John & JENNY Burley
John Burley has attended The Refinery for ___ years and been going to Guatemala for ___. John was instrumental in the Life Centers conception back in 20_ _, and since then has become our Missions director. Additionally, John leads the board that helps guide all 5 Life Centers.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE ANNUAL TRIP
IMPACT
The Refinery Life Center began in 2019, but since then 4 additional life centers have begun. Other churches took teams down to The Refinery Life Center to deepen our investment. In the process these churches fell in love what they saw, leading to them wanting to multiply what was taking place. There are now 5 Life Centers being supported by 8 churches representing 250 kids.
Through this program we have witnessed God do amazing things. The overall nourishment of the village is increasing, kids are becoming the first in their families to go to high school and college, and we are witnessing accept Jesus for the first time. God has used this program for so much good.

Additionally, this program doesn’t happen without our sponsorship program. It costs $30 a month to provide this program for 1 kid. This amount also allows us to pay the local teachers and directors for the work they do to sustain the mission week after week.
